  • Welcome to the Speaking Club at International Swiss School

A New Space for Communication, Confidence, and Connection

International Swiss School officially launched its new Speaking Club, opening an exciting chapter in the school’s commitment to enhancing students’ communication skills, cultural exchange, and personal growth. The event gathered students, faculty, and international guests eager to experience the club’s first session and learn more about the opportunities it offers. Held in the university’s modern study room, the opening session of the Speaking Club brought together students from diverse backgrounds, reflecting the multicultural environment that defines International Swiss School. Designed as an inclusive and interactive platform, the club aims to create a safe space where students can practice public speaking, debate, storytelling, and intercultural dialogue. The initiative particularly supports international students, helping them strengthen their English language proficiency, gain confidence in expressing ideas, and prepare for academic and professional presentations.

  • The Speaking Club’s format combines informal conversations, structured debates, and creative workshops, encouraging students to actively participate, share opinions, and learn from each other’s experiences. The club’s organizers, including members of the school’s language department and student volunteers, designed the program to be flexible, student-centered, and responsive to the needs of both native and non-native English speakers. By engaging in discussions on global topics, leadership, sustainability, and cultural diversity, students develop critical thinking, argumentation skills, and the ability to engage in respectful, constructive conversations.

During the launch event, the participants took part in an interactive icebreaker session, followed by short speeches from student leaders, teachers, and guest speakers from local organizations. One of the highlights was a storytelling circle where students shared personal stories from their home countries, creating a warm and open atmosphere that reflected the club’s spirit of inclusion and dialogue. Teachers emphasized that the Speaking Club is a place to improve language skills and a community where students build friendships, exchange perspectives, and support each other’s growth as confident global citizens.

The opening of the Speaking Club reinforces International Swiss School’s holistic educational approach, which emphasizes communication, collaboration, and intercultural competence as essential skills for the future. As the first session concludes with enthusiastic feedback and ideas for future topics, we are sure that the Speaking Club will become an integral part of student life at our university. By providing a supportive and inspiring platform for dialogue, we continue to foster a vibrant international community where students grow as articulate, open-minded, and engaged members of society.
